Born and raised in the Church of Rock and Roll, A Band Named Sue has become a force within the Denver music scene. Formed in 2004, the band has created some of the most ingenious covers of classic Johnny Cash tunes. A Band Named Sue creates more than just music; they strive to provide a spiritual experience each and every performance.
Jason Haddock- (guitar, vocals) Brainwashed on Cash's music at a young age, frontman Jason Haddock is a man on a mission; a mission to bring the sounds of Johnny Cash to the poor and uncultured masses.
Born just 169 miles from Mr. John R. Cash's hometown of Dyess, Arkansas, Haddock brings an authentic classic country influence to the band.
Brian (Don't Take Your Drums to Town) Topkoff- (drums) A local boy from Denver, Colorado, and a faithfully devoted disciple of the Cash gospel in his own right, Topkoff is the back bone and the back beat. And he never passes up an opportunity to spread the Word.
"For too long, Johnny Cash has gone unappreciated by the mainstream music-consuming public at large," Topkoff was recently heard musing over a cold Coors beer. "They just don't get it, man."
Joel Schneider- (bass, backing vocals) Also a Denver native, Schneider too spent his formative years exposed to the stark gospel sounds and punk ethic pioneered by Mr. John R. Cash.
After what seemed like a lifetime spent wayfaring in a purgatory of uninspiring musical endeavors, he has finally been called home. Now devoted to his true calling, he adds a distinct rockabilly edge to this no frills tribute to the Man in Black.
Jody Rodney- (June Carter and backing vocals, guitar)
Special Guest 'SUERS':
Cline Haddock- (guitar, harmonica, vocals)
